For twenty-one years, Marc Fromager traveled the planet while leading Aid to the Church in Need (AED) in France. We find him today at the head of Mission Ismérie, named after this Muslim princess, daughter of an Egyptian sultan of Cairo, who became a Christian in the 12th century. The structure is only one year old but, already, an ambitious objective that this fifty-year-old with a missionary soul pursues with conviction: it is neither more nor less to announce Christ to Muslims, in response to the invitation of Pope Francis to take the Gospel to the outskirts. Impossible mission? Far from it, believes Marc Fromager who knows the Muslim world too well,
"his thirst for transcendence, his metaphysical and spiritual appetite"
to be discouraged.
"It is probably easier to discuss God with a Muslim than with an atheist," he
says.
