Franziska Savage, her husband and her neighbors wanted to fulfill their dream of owning a home in an apartment building in Kleinberghofen.

It has now turned into a nightmare.

The dispute with the building contractor should soon occupy the courts.

Basically, Savage & Co. only want one thing: to live!

Kleinberghofen

- Statistically speaking, there is trouble on four out of ten construction sites, according to a study that the construction consultancy Almondia commissioned three years ago.

Every 20th house also has significant deficiencies.

A house construction project in Kleinberghofen fulfills all of these criteria.

It will and will not be finished, the building contractor is driving the residents with his "delaying tactics", as they call it, insane, and the district office even had to impose a temporary construction freeze because, according to the authorities, "people and Property damage threatened ”.

When or how will the house ever be finished?

Nobody knows.

It all started well.

The apartments in the prefabricated house made of solid components had already been sold before the groundbreaking ceremony had yet been taken.

Sure, two- and three-room apartments in the greater Munich area are in great demand.

The apartments should be ready for occupancy by spring 2020.

Franziska Savage and her husband David moved in last November.

The house wasn't finished by then, but the young couple believed the contractor that everything would be ready in January.

In fact, the Savages and their neighbors still live on a construction site to this day.

The completion date January became March, then May, then July and now November.

The living situation, complains the 29-year-old Savage, “is becoming more and more important.

There's just dirt around us ”.

Since there is still no garden, the fence is also missing, which means: "We have no privacy, we are locked in our four walls".

In any case, Franziska Savage believes that she can no longer interpret the pitying looks in the village other than: "We are the mockery of the whole town!"

The situation at the district office is less emotional, but here, too, you go hard with the building contractor.

“Basically, we can state that the client delayed the granting of the permit by not submitting the required documents.

This led to a delay, which was unfortunately the responsibility of the client, ”said a statement on the case.

A construction inspection in June 2020 also showed that “among other things, there was a risk of the excavation pit collapsing”, which is why construction was stopped. Furthermore, it was "found, among other things, that the balconies were not adequately secured, although the affected buildings were already in use". And finally: The "proper production of the parking spaces to be built" is pending. “This state of affairs”, according to the office, “exists to our knowledge to this day”.

The building contractor emphasizes that the whole matter “is not nice for everyone involved. I want to finish that! ”However, he also admits that he has never experienced anything like this construction site in his entire 30-year career. First the permit “did not work as planned”, then “a few people dropped out” due to the corona and finally “the gardener messed up”, which is why practically the whole garden had to be dismantled. However, Savage & Co. moved in contrary to his recommendation, "they really wanted in"!

It is unclear whether the contractor will keep his November commitment. What is certain is that apart from the psychological stress, there have recently also been falls over the wet pallets in front of the house, said Savage. The owners will now sue the contractor. Your real wish is only "that it will finally be finished"!

Michael Sagerer, neighbor of the Savages, admits that he learned two things through the matter: First, that he let himself be put off for too long.

“Next time I'll go to the lawyer right away.” And secondly, that he better checks the references of a building contractor.

This is because he has "completely taken over" with the project.

And Corona, as Sagerer wants to know, is certainly not to blame for the problems, because: "In my notary contract, the completion date is April 30, 2020. The house should have been built at a time when Corona still existed not."
