"I want a 24-hour watch in Nandlstadt," says local manager Gerhard Betz.

Now he has come closer to his goal: the ambulance service will be on duty longer in the future.

Nandlstadt

- "I want a 24-hour watch in Nandlstadt", Mayor Gerhard Betz had already called for several times.

Because the trained and experienced paramedic knows that the citizens of the north of the district are not optimally cared for at night.

At the urging of the mayor of Nandlstadt and his northern colleagues, the ambulance parking space has now been re-examined.

The result: the retention times are extended.

A success for Gerhard Betz.

Freisinger Tagblatt:

Why are you so vehemently committed to a 24-hour ambulance in Nandlstadt?

Gerhard Betz:

Because the prescribed release times of twelve minutes often cannot be adhered to - especially at night.

The Nandlstadt ambulance is manned on weekdays from 7 a.m. to 10 p.m. and continuously from 8 a.m. on Saturday to 10 p.m. on Sunday.

I would like the citizens in the north of the district to be better cared for at night - and thus receive the same care as a citizen in the city.

Because emergencies happen between midnight and 6 a.m.

The rescue association decided this week that the times in Nandlstadt (and also in Langenpreising) will be extended.

.

.

That's right: in future, the ambulance in Nandlstadt will be manned on weekdays from 6 a.m. to midnight and from 8 a.m. on Saturday to midnight on Sunday.

That's 17 hours more per week.

But that is not the goal you wanted to achieve.

.

.

That is also true.

But I still see it as an absolute win.

A year ago it was not foreseeable that we would even get an increase in retention periods - there was none for over ten years.

Now we've got an increase - that was the least I wanted to achieve.

Public pressure

And when will the ambulance be occupied longer?

There is no specific date yet.

But at the meeting of the rescue association it was agreed that it should be done as soon as possible.

How important was the merger with the Northern Mayors?

Very important!

We got together and went public to raise awareness of the problem.

And this public pressure ultimately led to this re-evaluation of the actual report.

How was your request received by the rescue association?

Very positive.

At this point, I would like to thank the district representatives in the rescue association: District Administrator Helmut Petz, Anton Frankl and Martin Reiter, who supported the project.

And Erding's District Administrator Martin Bayerstorfer also supported the project from the start.

Are you sticking to your demand for a 24-hour watch in Nandlstadt despite the expansion?

Sure, of course!

It was and still is my goal that the ambulance in Nandlstadt is manned 24 hours a day - so that the citizens are better looked after at night.

Betz: "An entire region affected"

It doesn't just affect the municipality of Nandlstadt ...

Right - that affects an entire region.

For example Gammelsdorf: The next ambulance is in Moosburg.

If this is on the way and Nandlstadt is not manned, it takes an incredible amount of time until the rescue service is on site and the patient gets help.

How does it go from here?

The so-called TRUST report is drawn up every five years - and in it, the supply of the regions with ambulance vehicles is checked.

It will be that time again in three years.

I will continue to campaign for a 24-hour watch.
