The Observatory predicts that the high-altitude disturbance will bring showers and thunderstorms to the coast of Guangdong and the northern part of the South China Sea in the next one or two days. At the same time, the easterly air currents affecting southeastern China will gradually ease. It is expected that the wind will be weak and the weather will be very hot in Guangdong from the beginning to the middle of next week. .

From next Tuesday (28th), the temperature in the urban area has also risen to 33 degrees for three consecutive days, and next Friday (October 1) during the National Day holiday, there will be sunshine during part of the time and showers in some areas.


In addition, the tropical depression "Dianmu" will cross the Indo-China Peninsula today (24) and tomorrow (25) and gradually dissipate.

According to the Observatory, a fresh to strong easterly airstream is affecting the coast of Guangdong.

At the same time, showers are affecting the area. The showers this morning brought more than 10 millimetres of rainfall to the northeastern New Territories.

The Observatory expects sunshine for a short period of time today and showers in some areas. It will be mostly cloudy tonight; it will moderate to a fresh easterly wind, and strong winds will blow occasionally offshore.

Looking forward to the next day or two, there will be sunshine and a few showers for a short time.

The Observatory expects that there will be sunshine for a short time tomorrow and a few showers. On Sunday (26th) there will be thunderstorms in some areas. People should pay attention to weather changes when going out on weekends.

The weather will not clear until next Tuesday (28th). The Observatory expects that it will be generally fine and very hot next Tuesday, and there will be some showers in some areas in the next two days.

The temperature on the third day also ranges from 28 to 33 degrees, and the upper water level is expected to reach 36 degrees on Wednesday (29th) and Thursday (30th); in many districts, including Sha Tin and Tsing Yi, it may reach 35 degrees next Thursday.

The Observatory said that the tropical storm "Dianmu" has weakened into a tropical depression and is expected to move westward.

Next Friday is the National Day holiday on October 1. The Observatory expects sunshine during part of the day and showers in some areas; the temperature will drop slightly to between 27 and 32 degrees.

According to the Observatory's data, the hottest National Day on record was 34.2 degrees recorded in 1890, and the hottest National Day in recent years was 33.2 degrees recorded in 2019.

In addition, the tropical storm "Dianmu" has weakened into a tropical depression. At 12 noon today, the Dianmu gathered about 440 kilometers east-southeast of Vientiane. The observatory is expected to move westward at a speed of about 22 kilometers per hour, crossing Central and South. The peninsula gradually dissipated.
