The passing of arms with speckled foils between Europeans and Americans hardly upset the routine at the United Nations headquarters in New York. The "high-level week" bringing together around a hundred heads of state and government within the framework of the 76th session of the UN General Assembly, was ostensibly turned towards the climate and health emergency as well as towards the Afghanistan, and much less concerned, apparently, by the creation of a strategic alliance in the Asia-Pacific sphere between the United States, Great Britain and Australia (Aukus). China, in particular, has remained surprisingly low-key on the subject, letting France express its wrath on the international stage. The main thing, this week, is in fact played out in Washington, and no longer in New York.
