The Transport Department said that during the Chung Yeung Festival, Chai Wan will implement special traffic and transportation arrangements in three phases to facilitate the public to go to grave-sweeping.
The authorities will implement the first phase of road control on the three weekends and Sundays (October 16, 17, 23, 24, 30 and 31) after the Chung Yeung Festival. At this stage, vehicles can still continue Go to Cape Collinson Road east of Lincheng Road, but if there is traffic congestion, the road will be closed.
The Transport Department continued to point out that the second phase of road closure will be implemented two weeks before the Chung Yeung Festival (October 1, 2, 3, 9 and 10); the third phase of road closure will be implemented on the day of the Chung Yeung Festival.
During the second and third phases of road closures, all vehicles will be prohibited from entering Lincheng Road and Cape Collinson Road from 7 am to 6 pm.
Special bus lines to and from Shau Kei Wan Bus Terminus, MTR Chai Wan Station and Chai Wan Cemetery
Three special bus lines will be put into service on designated days to facilitate the public from Shau Kei Wan Bus Terminus or MTR Chai Wan Station to Chai Wan Cemetery.
Citybus No. 8X, 19 and 780, NWFB No. 9, Tunnel Bus No. 106, 118 and 606, and green minibus 18M will enhance services depending on the needs of passengers.
