Despite the position of the professionals, the Prime Minister decided to continue at this stage in his policy.
The decision came following data from researchers at the Hebrew University, which show a downward trend in the coefficient of infection - which is expected to lead to a decrease in the new serious illness.

Prime Minister Naftali Bennett decided yesterday (Thursday) to continue with the existing corona policy that does not restrict gatherings, in stark contrast to the opinion of all senior Ministry of Health officials.
This, following data presented to him by researchers from the Hebrew University, which show a declining trend in infection rates, which according to the forecast will keep the decline in infections in the next ten days, and will lead to a decrease in the new serious illness.
Prior to Bennett's decision to continue with existing regulations, the Ministry of Health's expert cabinet recommended imposing a crowd limit of 300 people in enclosed spaces.
Experts stressed that closure is not on the agenda, yet it makes no sense to hold large gatherings in favor of cultural and sporting events during a period of uncontrolled infection peak, with dozens of young patients coming for treatment in a critical condition daily.

Meanwhile, Hebrew researchers expect a delay of about one to two weeks in the decrease in the existing serious illness.
The delay will come due to the increase in the survival of the difficult patients alongside an increase in the time of hospitalization, which causes a significant deviation from the predicted value for a number of severe patients.
This phenomenon is suitable for the decrease in the average age of new severe patients following the administration of the booster dose - especially for those aged 50 and over.
