Red-red-green would in theory be possible after the federal election.
Some even warn against a "left slide".
What exactly does the party want?
The election program in the check.
Berlin - red-red-green as a realistic alliance after the federal election? According to surveys, a coalition of the SPD, the Greens and the Left Party would be quite possible. At the TV Triells, Union Chancellor candidate Armin Laschet was already putting pressure on his competitor Olaf Scholz (SPD). The should give the party a clear rejection. This did not materialize.

The left has not come above 7 percent in surveys for months, but it plays a not insignificant role in the election campaign.
CSU boss Markus Söder even warned of a “left slide” - and even the otherwise cautious Chancellor Angela Merkel scolded Scholz for not clearly delimiting herself from the left.
But what does the party actually stand for?
Federal election 2021: Election program Die Linke - "Social Justice, Peace and Climate Justice"
Die Linke presents its ideas on 168 pages and focuses on social policy. On the front page it is written: “Time to act! For social justice, peace and climate justice ”. Directly in the introduction, the party makes it clear: "We stand for a policy of reliability and honesty, but also of courage - we want to change." The Corona crisis made the injustices of capitalism even more apparent. Some should have feared for jobs, their children's education and health, while large corporations were able to increase their profits. The left does not want to come to terms with this: they are "ready to take on the profiteers."
The central demands of the left: taxes for the rich should go up, the poor should be relieved.
In view of the climate crisis, they are calling for climate neutrality by 2035 and are committed to the goal of limiting global warming to 1.5 degrees.
Dietmar Bartsch said: “Our climate policy does not have to hide from anyone.” The party differentiates itself from the Greens with regard to social policy.
It is about climate policy, "without constantly ripping off consumers on heating, electricity or at the gas station," emphasized Bartsch.

The end of all foreign missions is also central to them - the most contentious point regarding a possible coalition formation for the other parties.

With regard to possible coalitions: The left has clear overlaps with the SPD and the Greens when it comes to social policy, climate policy and taxes.
The focal point, however, remains the party's security and foreign policy.
They keep their distance from the other parties in these two essential subject areas.
They fundamentally reject deployments of the Bundeswehr abroad - including training missions or, for example, deployments with a UN peacekeeping mandate.
They also demand the dissolution of NATO.
But the SPD and the Greens as possible coalition partners are demanding a clear commitment to NATO in particular.
