Schongau - The signage concept for Schongau is one step further.

The first building blocks in the northern city wall area can now be tackled.

After an on-site meeting with the sampling of various colors and shapes for the intended signs, the building committee decided in its meeting on Tuesday in favor of a favorite.

Around ten so-called "Points of Interest" (POI) could be located around the city wall, according to Robert Thomas from the building authority.

The city commissioned the design group Koop with the creation of the signage concept for the signage of the city wall area, the city tours and their uniform design to improve the tourist development.

Last Tuesday, Andreas Koop presented the various designs at the on-site visit.

The discussion on site was mainly about the color scheme. A favorite quickly emerged from the members of the building committee present: gray frame, yellow highlights. Koop pointed out that you could also work with different designs and move them in one direction or the other “like a mixer”. "If they are the same everywhere, you can find your way around," said Ilona Böse (SPD). Only for those steles that deal with the Nazi era do they want to use a more restrained color scheme, says Thomas.

With regard to the information signs in the city, it was decided to use a darker gray, since what was originally intended is being lost in the cityscape.

The planned overview boards are also based on gray and yellow.

The eagle should also be placed on it as the city's coat of arms in the respective colors black and yellow.

By and large, the building committee members found a consensus on this.

Only Bettina Buresch (Greens) could not really make friends with the design.

“The smaller and simpler the better,” was her opinion.

With a dissenting vote, the committee nevertheless voted in favor of approving the design and implementation of the first component of the signage concept.

This includes the POIs, the northern city wall area and the tour around the city wall.

The costs for this are estimated at around 32,500 euros.
