Hoodia Monsengo landed in Israel today (Friday) after two years in prison in Peru, and was solemnly received in the city of Dimona.
The mayor of Dimona, Bnei Bitton, wrote on his Facebook account: "Blessed is he who redeems and saves."

Mayor Bitton added: "I met Hoodia this morning at the entrance to the city, together with her family, and I told her that for us it was a miracle and we were happy to see her at home.
"The struggle for the return of Hoodia was not simple and I thank everyone who took part and helped bring her back to Israel," the mayor wrote.

Hoodia's father said: "The first thing Hoodia did in the country is to hug her mother and admit that she is in the country. It feels great to be in the country after so much time and after the difficulty in Peru.
