The “Anders Outdoor Weeks” have now started in Tölzer Land: a program that brings tourists and locals closer to the topic of nature conservation.

Bad Tölz-Wolfratshausen

- autumn is hiking time - and it is foreseeable that crowds of day-trippers will flock to the region again.

The fun of such tours on the one hand and the needs of the environment and the locals in harmony: This is the task of the campaign "Nature conservation begins with you", which has been running since May in cooperation with "Tölzer Land Tourismus" and the Lower Nature Conservation Authority .

Nature conservation in a relaxed way

With guided hikes, walks or bike tours for five weeks - until Sunday, October 24th - topics related to nature conservation are in the foreground.

Since Monday the “Lenggrieser Wanderherbst” has started, consisting of the “Mountain Sports” and the “Pleasure Hiking Week”.

During mountain tours and hikes of varying degrees of difficulty, experts such as mountain guides, foresters, rangers and herbalists inform people about nature conservation in a relaxed manner and give tips on nature-friendly hiking or how to avoid rubbish on the mountain.

"What you value, you protect"

Because the organizers wanted to show what the whole thing looks like, the press was invited to the opening tour on Brauneck with hiking guide Blasius Heiss. "The Corona crisis fueled the natural crime," said Heiss and emphasized: "Everyone is encouraged to protect nature." The right to enjoy natural beauties is even anchored in the Bavarian constitution, added Franz Steger from the Lower Nature Conservation Authority, who also came was. You have to lead people out into nature, he said. “Then they get to know nature. And what you know, you value. And what you value, you protect. "

Andreas Wüstefeld, the head of the "Tölzer Land Tourismus", drew attention in a speech to the conflicts that existed again and again in the past between excursionists and locals.

"Our guests are only satisfied if the locals are too and they are not under the pressure of day-trippers." Wüstefeld did not want to demonize tourism because it plays an important role in the region.

"That is why tourism and nature conservation belong together."

This is how environmentally friendly tour planning works

When they reached the top of the Brauneck, he drew the participants' attention to environmentally friendly tour planning.

For example, you can use public transport to get to the starting point of your tour.

“You are not allowed to leave hiking trails and climbs.” Because alleged shortcuts do not always lead to the goal.

"This creates turf and can lead to soil erosion."

A little further on, in a guessing game, he asked about the rotting times of rubbish in nature.

One finding: it can take up to seven years for a carelessly discarded cigarette butt to rot.
