Eitting - The municipality of Eitting has had its own coat of arms since March 13, 1967. On this Monday, the Bavarian State Ministry of the Interior approved the acceptance of the Eittingen municipal coat of arms.

The certificate was ceremoniously awarded.

The coat of arms consists of three symbols: a bishop's staff, a meandering line and a boar's head.

Since the Eittingen local history is shaped by the Hofmark, the bishop's staff pays homage to the bishopric and the cathedral chapter of Freising.

The meandering line symbolizes the Middle Isar, which flows through the town.

And the Eberkopf goes back to the work of the noble von Eberspeck family from Reisen.

The coat of arms is present throughout the municipality - you just have to take a closer look.

It can be seen on wooden boards at the town entrances in particular - residents and guests are greeted with a “Grüß Gott”.

“The color is not yellow, even if it often looks like that, but gold,” says former mayor Georg Wiester.

The fruit and horticultural association Eitting takes care of the appropriate flower arrangements and maintenance of the wooden troughs.

The Middle Isar Canal meanders through the Hofmark and through the coat of arms, but in the latter it is black.

The energy is used in the Eitting power plant.

A grave plaque in the Reisen church commemorates the knight Hans Eberspeck.

It is attached to the right wall of the nave.

Eberspeck died around 1400. According to the chronicle “Eitting - The History of a Country Community”, which was written by Hans Niedermayer, Erdinger's councilor for many years, nothing is known about Hans Eberspeck.

It is believed that he owned a noble residence, presumably a small castle, in Reisen.
