In addition to the 36 devices that have been ordered, more air purifiers will have to be obtained: That is the result of a study at the Freising district schools.

Now Rainer Stiller from Bechtold Ingenieurgesellschaft mbH has submitted a first report to the district school committee about which of the 631 rooms of the twelve district schools examined should be recommended for air purification devices.
Conclusion: In addition to the 36 devices that have already been procured and ordered, you will certainly have to procure more air purifiers.
The report
Stiller first made it clear that mobile air purification devices could reduce the concentration of viruses by up to 99.5 percent.
That sounds "promising", but there is one restriction: This effect is only achieved if the devices run at a "high speed".
But then they are very loud at 70 dB (A).
If you throttle it so that the prescribed limit of 35 dB (A) is not exceeded, the effect is "massively" restricted.
The ventilation systems
And something else was decided in the school committee: At the business school, the big solution is being implemented with decentralized ventilation systems. The examination of all rooms (which had been precisely measured beforehand) resulted in three categories: rooms in which adequate ventilation is possible, rooms in which ventilation is only possible to a limited extent and one could think of purchasing air purifiers, and such rooms, where air purifiers must be. Conclusion of the first results: The air purifiers that have already been decided are used sensibly. Nevertheless, it is already clear that the district has to procure more equipment. Stiller also mentioned a whole package of recommendations: 1. Regular ventilation. 2. Windows, where it is possible to "reactivate", in other words: not only to allow tilting, but also complete opening. 3.Let the air cleaner run at high speed during breaks. 4. Follow the AHA rules. 5. Buy HEPA filter devices (i.e. no UVC devices), as their maintenance is easier. Building construction department manager Florian Plajer said that the rooms in which the installation of air purification devices might be necessary will now be inspected again with the school management and then a decision will be made.
The general renovation
A measure has already been decided that was not planned at all: the general renovation of the Freising Business School was estimated at 16 million euros.
This includes: two million euros for the concrete renovation.
A specialist company has now been commissioned to determine the necessary repair work for the concrete parts and to provide a cost estimate.
Lo and behold: You don't have to spend two million on it, but “only” 682,000 euros.
The statement
So you have a good 1.3 million euros left over, so to speak.
And according to a resolution from July to install decentralized ventilation and air conditioning systems in places where school renovations are pending, they will now be used for precisely this purpose.
A qualified cost calculation of what the decentralized air purification devices would cost for the entire business school revealed - what a coincidence - the sum of 1.3 million euros.
District Administrator Helmut Petz jokingly commented on the committee's unanimous decision to use the money already made available for the hygienic ventilation concept with decentralized individual ventilation devices: "How won, so melted away."
