The replacement pop-up folk festival Gallimarkt-Park will open its doors this Friday at 3 p.m. and will be a guest in Mainburg for two weeks and three weekends.

The park is open on Wednesday and Thursday from 3 p.m. to 9 p.m., Friday and Saturday from 3 p.m. to 11 p.m. and Sunday from 1 p.m. to 9 p.m., until the last day, the traditional Monday of the Gallimarkt on October 11th.

Since families are important to the organizers Zinnecker, Wednesday is a family day with reduced prices.

In addition, First Mayor Fichtner gives all seniors over 70 years of age from the city area a snack in the covered beer garden of the Gallimarkt Park and encourages them to take part in the convivial round of the senior citizens' get-together from Wednesday to Saturday from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m.

Gallimarkt-Park: Organizers Zinnecker care about family and regionality

Showmen around the Zinnecker family have come together to replace one or the other folk festival in Bavaria with their “park” concept and to survive the pandemic. You travel in a fixed group with a balanced offer and a hygiene concept for your fenced in “summer in the city” folk festival. “Of course we organize the Gallimarkt-Park in Mainburg in order to survive financially. That is why we have to charge two euros for adults and children from the age of six. Space rent, hygiene measures and security personnel to implement these, fees for music and rent for beer garden equipment are for example costs that are not borne by the showmen at normal folk festivals. But it is particularly important to us to bring some variety and hype to the cities and light up children's eyes, ”said Ms. Zinnecker.

"The family is important to us - making young and old happy is what our job is all about".

Since the Zinnecker family, as the organizer, also bears responsibility for their showman family, the choice of exhibitors in the park has been carefully considered so that everyone can work economically.

For this reason, and above all because of the complex hygiene concepts, no regional Fieranten can be admitted to the Gallimarkt-Park at short notice.

The organizers, Zinnecker, still value regionality and purchase sausage, cheese and all fresh food from suppliers in Mainburg and the surrounding area.

In the covered beer garden there will of course be beer and non-alcoholic drinks from the Mainburger Ziegler brewery.

Changing regional music bands entertain the guests regularly.

14 days Gallimarkt-Park: There is something for everyone

The city of Mainburg welcomes the family thoughts of the organizers and is pleased to offer its citizens a short-term replacement for the Gallimarkt. The operating and development company Mainburg (BEM) makes the Schöllwiese available as a fairground. And First Mayor Fichtner invites all seniors to a sociable get-together at the senior meeting with a snack in the beer garden of the Gallimarkt Park. Ms. Zinnecker has also offered all day-care centers in the Mainburg urban area a safe visit to the Gallimarkt Park outside of the regular opening times.

For the finale on the traditional Gallimarkt weekend, the Fierantenmarkt takes place with Sunday shopping.

Whether this has to be set up at Griesplatz with visitor guidance, as was the case last time, or whether it can take place again in the city center, will be decided according to the applicable hygiene regulations.

The Zinnecker family and Mayor Fichtner wish all citizens with the Gallimarkt-Park a nice summer in the city.
