Tutzing - The construction work on the first construction phase in the south of Tutzing is about to be completed.

Despite the corona pandemic, the extensive civil engineering work could be carried out without major delays.

The three project partners - the Weilheim State Building Authority, the Tutzing municipality and the Starnberger See wastewater association - are very satisfied with the way the project was handled.

In August 2020, after several years of coordination and negotiations between the municipality of Tutzing, the Weilheim State Building Authority and the Starnberger See wastewater association, the first of three construction phases in the south of Tutzing could begin. The three project partners attached great importance to safe traffic management for all road users as well as up-to-date information for the citizens of Tutzing.

The extensive renovation of the infrastructure in the southern construction section included the renewal or renovation of the rainwater and sewage channels, the laying of new water, gas and power lines including the house connections, the construction of new sidewalks including lighting, the laying of an empty pipe network for a later fiber optic expansion as well as the construction of the new roundabout. Furthermore, the roadway was renewed with barrier-free crossing islands and bus stops, new traffic lights and the marking of wheel protection lanes.

After the construction of an intermediate storage facility in the Lindemann-, Haupt- and Bernrieder Strasse, the deep canal construction work began.

Higher cables followed before work on the streets and sidewalks could begin.

The street lighting has also been brought up to the latest state of the art and now illuminates the street with LEDs and at a very small scattering angle.

In addition, the old drinking water pipeline, consisting of break-prone gray cast iron, was replaced by more flexible, ductile cast iron pipelines.

The outdated house connections were also swapped right up to the property boundaries in order to bring all lines back up to date.

For further future planning - for example for fiber optic cables - empty conduits have already been inserted so that the road surface does not have to be opened if necessary. Together with the main sewers, the street drainage of Lindemannstrasse, Hauptstrasse and Bernrieder Strasse was completely renewed and equipped with pre-cleaning, so-called sedimentation shafts. Suspended and floating matter in the accumulating rainwater is retained and disposed of. The purified water is discharged into Lake Starnberg and the Erlenberggraben. In addition to the sewer construction work in Tutzinger Hauptstraße, the sewage association also renewed the rainwater sewer system in Schlossstraße. The work on this was carried out in anticipation of the construction phase in the central area.

What's next?

The next construction phase in the north of Tutzing - between Ringseisweg and Hans-Albers-Straße - can begin immediately after the construction work in the south has been completed.

The planned start of construction is on October 4th, construction is expected to end at the end of November 2022. Traffic is routed mostly on one side with traffic lights.

Further information will be given in advance of the start of construction.

The three project partners continue to attach great importance to safe traffic management for all road users as well as up-to-date information for the citizens of Tutzing.
