In the meantime she has turned to new tasks, the AWO neighborhood help is flourishing and growing.

In the meantime, the AWO volunteers are mainly there for the older citizens in Neubiberg, Ottobrunn and Hohenbrunn.
You go for a walk with him, go shopping, accompany him to the doctor, go for a walk with the dog or shoo away the loneliness for a short time and often develop a personal relationship with the senior citizens over the years.
One goal is that they can stay at home for as long as possible.
Often the family does not live nearby or is busy with work itself during the week.
The chairwoman of the AWO local association, Birgit Biehn: "We cover a field for which no one else is available." Those seeking help often turn to official bodies first, but where their concerns are not heard.
Small gifts help increase its popularity
The volunteer helper Fred Lamers is particularly popular with the elderly. A lady has moved to Landshut. He was now sending her a card with birthday greetings.
