The British Guardian newspaper revealed the involvement of British forces in the killing of 86 children and more than 200 Afghan civilians during the war in Afghanistan.

The newspaper reported that official compensation records at the Ministry of Defense obtained through a series of freedom of information requests revealed that the youngest recorded civilian victim was three years old.

Records showed that £2,380 was paid on average, with more than 80 children among the victims. One of the most serious incidents included in the records is the award of £4,23,360 to the family of four children who were accidentally shot dead in an accident in December 2009.

According to records, some payments amounted to less than a few hundred pounds. In February 2008, one family received £104.17 for the murder of one of its members and compensation for property damage in Helmand province, while another family received £586.42 for the murder of their 10-year-old son. years in December 2009.

The data was compiled by the Anti-Armed Violence Organization, which examined records to coincide with the withdrawal of Western forces from Afghanistan last month.

Earlier this month, The New York Times revealed the falsehood of the account presented by the US military about targeting a terrorist from the “ISIS” organization in an air raid launched late last month, stressing that the raid led to the killing of civilians, including children.

The newspaper pointed out in an investigation that the US military launched an air strike on the 29th of last August on a car whose driver it was alleged was a terrorist from the “ISIS” organization and that it contained explosives that threaten the security of the American forces at Kabul Airport. Non-governmental organizations and that the explosives that the US military talked about are water bottles.

According to the British newspaper, records showed that in some cases, compensation for property damage was greater than that for loss of life, noting that the British Army paid 688,000 pounds in compensation for accidents, including 289 deaths between 2006 and 2013, the last year of combat operations. The average compensation paid by the Ministry of Defense for each civilian killed was £2,380.

In response to Freedom of Information requests, the British Ministry of Defense said that compensation data was one of the few ways to determine the number of civilians likely to have been killed by British forces in Afghanistan.

The Organization for Combating Armed Violence estimates that 20,390 civilians have been killed or injured by international and Afghan forces in Afghanistan.
