The URA recently submitted a document to the Legislative Council to explain the results and recommendations of the URA’s Yau Mong Redevelopment Planning Study.

The document proposes to divide the area of ​​212 hectares into five major development nodes, including the construction of a large waterway park near the Flower Market Path; the revitalization of the Yau Ma Tei fruit bar into a tourist attraction, the construction of a multi-storey building to replace the current fruit bar wholesale operation; the revitalization of Mong Kok The market has become a characteristic market, integrating surrounding hawker stalls and providing 1.8 hectares of open space.


The report also suggests that after the districts are integrated in the future, the URA can find suitable sites to build subsidized housing in the form of "Hong Kong people's first home buyers".
