Cruise fans looking for high-speed thrills have something to look forward to as Norwegian Cruise Line revealed amazing amenities aboard its newest ship, Norwegian Prima.

The Norwegian Prima, set to sail in August 2022, has become the cruise line's most in-demand ship, according to the brand, attracting record bookings when it launched in May.

And that was before cruise lovers had a chance to see what it has to offer.

Perhaps the greatest spectacle aboard Norwegian Prima is the Prima Speedway, the largest and first three-tier go-kart racetrack at sea.

The track stretches for about 420 meters and has 14 hairpin turns.

The track can be used by 15 runners simultaneously, and part of the track offers views of the sea.

Go-karts can reach speeds of up to 50 kilometers per hour.

It's the cruise company's most ambitious racetrack to date, but it's not the first.

Norwegian installed the world's first go-kart track on a cruise ship on Norwegian Joy (which was launched in 2017), followed by its ships Bliss (2018) and Encore (2019).

More world firsts

Thrill-seekers will also want to experience “The Drop”.

Dubbed the "world's first free-fall dry slide" offered by a cruise line, it is a 10-story free-fall slide that takes passengers hurtling down the side of the ship, "experiencing the highest G-force of any experience. comparable in the cruise industry, "says a Norwegian press release.

Those who want to add a competitive edge to the freefall experience can try “The Rush,” which allows two guests to speed down at the same time.

Prima also claims to have the world's first three-story theater on a cruise ship that can be transformed into a Las Vegas-style nightclub with an expansive dance floor for attendees.

In addition to a great musical performance, the theater will host interactive reality game shows familiar to American audiences, such as "The Price is Right."

Other services include an indoor virtual gaming complex called "The Galaxy Pavilion."

It will offer 14 attractions, including two escape rooms and the only Topgolf Swing Suite, a type of immersive golf simulator, at sea.

The water park and main pool, including the cruise line's first “Tidal Wave” waterslide, will provide further entertainment for passengers.

Ocean boulevard

Norwegian put a great emphasis on outer space with the design of the Prima.

The “Ocean Boulevard” will include “The Concourse”, an outdoor sculpture garden with expensive works of art.

And then there's "Infinity Beach," a boardwalk with two infinity pools.

The “Oceanwalk”, meanwhile, has two glass-bottom bridges that hang over the ocean.

The Terrace will be an outdoor rest area.

Ocean Boulevard also features three restaurants and a market-inspired international food hall, all with indoor and outdoor seating.

The new ship is 294 meters long, weighs 142,500 gross tons and has capacity for 3,215 guests.

It will also offer the largest variety of suite categories available at sea - 13 in total.

These include the 107 suites at “The Haven”, spread over eight decks and accessible only with an “ultra-premium key card”.

This exclusive section of the ship also features its own infinity pool, an outdoor spa with a glass-walled sauna, and an ice room.

There is also an area for adults only, called “Vibe Beach Club”, with a bar and two infinity hot tubs.

The Prima's maiden summer voyage will be an eight-day journey through northern Europe, from Amsterdam to the Norwegian fjords and the Baltic regions.

In the fall / winter season, the ship will mainly sail through the Caribbean.
