And because the civil volunteer work is not far from the Syrians, the people of Douma rushed after its liberation to restore what was destroyed by terrorism over the past years, spreading hope among the rubble and rubble.

SANA’s camera monitored the restoration work carried out by the government in cooperation with the civil society in a number of schools, the cultural center “Palace of Culture” and the municipal stadium. Eng. Khaled Salam, Vice President of Douma City Council, explained to SANA’s delegate that the armed terrorist organizations destroyed and sabotaged the municipal stadium, and with the help of the civil society, it was restored Rehabilitation and restoration to be ready to receive the people of the city and practice various hobbies and sports activities in it.

The restoration work took a long time, according to Salam, because the sabotage was huge, as it included leveling and cleaning the pitch and removing rubble, indicating that the stadium includes 3 damaged gyms, one of which is being rehabilitated to be ready for service.

Salam stressed the importance of restoring sports clubs to attract and attract children, especially since the city was for years under the weight of terrorism and its destructive ideas. .

The handball coach at the stadium, Ibrahim Al-Awa, expressed his happiness at the club's return to receive the children and contain them, stressing that by returning to normal life in their city, they send a message to the whole world that it is always a country of goodness and giving and that the future will be better.

In the educational sector, more than one school damaged by terrorism has been rehabilitated and restored, including the Al-Hashmiya School, whose halls and corridors have been extensively vandalized.

Rania Al-Khadra, from the Douma Educational Complex, pointed out that the majority of schools were renovated in cooperation with the civil society, especially after the return of a large part of the parents to their homes with the aim of promoting the educational process in the city.

Lawrence Haddad, Director of High School for Outstanding Students, pointed out that the school, which was subjected to vandalism and destruction during the years of the terrorist war on Syria, has been rehabilitated, indicating that 395 male and female students from the seventh and first grades of secondary school took the entrance exam at the beginning of the current academic year.

As for the restoration work that included the health sector, Douma city council member Ratib Hirib stated that in cooperation with the civil society, the tuberculosis health center was rehabilitated and renovated and transformed into the nucleus of a central emergency hospital at the district level. Medical services at nominal fees, while the second floor was equipped to be an emergency center for Corona patients.

As for the maternity hospital, work is being done to rehabilitate it so that it will be ready to provide its services during the coming period, according to Hayrab, who indicated that the civil society provided in-kind and material assistance to expedite the completion of these centers.

As for the Director of the Cultural Center in Douma, Reem Ataya, indicated that the center “the Palace of Culture” was sabotaged by terrorists, and after the return of security and stability to the city, the Directorate of Culture restored part of the reading room, the lobby, a small room and the building facade, in addition to removing the rubble and rubble, in cooperation with the civil society, noting the importance Partnership between the Ministry of Culture, the governorate, the city council and the civil society for the reconstruction of the city.

Ataya pointed out the return of cultural activities to the center through various lectures, seminars and cultural events targeting different age groups, in addition to literacy courses, Arabic calligraphy courses and English language lessons.

The voluntary civil initiatives implemented by the people of Syria in all their regions and governorates reflect the extent of their sense of social and national responsibility towards their country, especially under the current circumstances.
