District - There is a general election on September 26th.

The yellow sheet presents all candidates from the Weilheim constituency.

We asked them three questions.

Here are their answers.

Alexander Dobrindt (CSU)

How do you want to relieve the region with the increasing volume of traffic, especially due to the excursion traffic?

We have achieved a lot together!

The bypasses under construction in Oberau, on the Kramer in Garmisch, on the Wank in Partenkirchen and on the Auerberg in Eschenlohe will finally relieve our home of traffic jams and noise!

Weilheim also earns less through traffic - whether and in which variant the city largely decides itself. The modernization of the Pfaffenwinkelbahn has brought us real barrier-free mobility progress.

And the expansion of the Werdenfelsbahn creates new opportunities for commuters and guests in our homeland.

The half-hourly rhythm on the route to Murnau will come from 2025 and must be possible in the future after Garmisch-Partenkirchen.

Where do you focus on climate protection?

Our approach is to combine ambition, incentives and acceptance and to inspire climate protection instead of punishing.

We should get a tax rebate when saving the climate in our own household.

Sustainable solutions cannot be created through bans, but only through technological progress.

We are focusing on more electromobility in the traffic of the future, the expansion of photovoltaics and the sustainable development of CO2 pricing.

I can also imagine an earlier exit from coal-fired power generation.

How do you want to create affordable housing in the region?

We want to build more than 1.5 million new apartments in the coming election period, promote social housing with 5 billion euros and implement better depreciation conditions for new rental apartments and the degressive depreciation for rental apartment construction.

Sigrid Meierhofer (SPD)

How do you want to relieve the region with the increasing volume of traffic, especially due to the excursion traffic?

First of all, I think the construction of the Auerberg tunnel is a big mistake, because it will attract additional traffic on the way south, bypassing the constantly congested A8. If it can no longer be prevented, all planning options for reducing motorized individual traffic must be used, for example through "painful" speed restrictions or corresponding parking space management. Then a much more attractive public transport system is absolutely essential. In order to achieve this, an expansion of the network, an increase in the frequency and faster connections at a significantly lower price than before are inevitable. In addition, further funding programs should be set up for the municipalities to expand and design areas for pedestrians and cyclists.

Where do you focus on climate protection?

The most important thing is the political will to really change something.

Then the mobility transition is of great importance.

However, an energy and heating turnaround are also necessary, i.e. above all electricity from renewable raw materials and efficient heat generation, for example via combined heat and power plants or the use of district heating.

We should change our diet so that regionality and quality become the most important criteria when shopping;

we still have a lot of catching up to do.

And the municipalities should be pioneers and examples for sustainable planting and maintenance of our green spaces in the local area.

The aim should be a circular economy with low resource consumption.

How do you want to create affordable housing in the region?

From my point of view, it is crucial that municipal housing associations or the municipalities themselves acquire building land and thus create affordable housing.

The Building Land Mobilization Act, which came into force on July 1, enables municipalities to have better pre-emptive rights for property sales and contains planning tools for the construction of affordable housing.

Now it needs the approval of the state parliaments.

That is not to be expected in Bavaria because the Free State has tried to block the law in the Federal Council.

A change in the law is therefore necessary in order to be able to use these instruments independently of the state governments.

Gerrit Huy (AfD)

How do you want to relieve the region with the increasing volume of traffic, especially due to the excursion traffic?

We want to relieve the local population in the traffic-plagued areas through suitable city and village bypasses, sometimes also under tunnels, as well as the expansion of the rail infrastructure.

In particular, the bottleneck of the Werdenfelsbahn between Huglfing and Murnau is to be expanded to two tracks.

Where do you focus on climate protection?

We do not want to subordinate people, nature, industry or prosperity to a hopeless fight against climate change, but rather to adapt to its challenges: through suitable plants in the fields and forests, through the improvement of flood protection measures and modern technologies for base-load energy generation, which will ensure our power supply in the future make us independent of electricity imports again. We want to reverse CO2 taxation so that driving, heating and eating meat remain affordable for citizens. Our “man-made” share of atmospheric CO2 is just 0.00003 percent. Even if we completely abolished it, it would have no noticeable impact on the world temperature. The Wall Street Journal calls our simultaneous exit from nuclear and coal power “stupid energy policy in the world”. It brought us the highest electricity prices in the world, and that will not change because the EEG surcharge is no longer to be paid by the electricity customer, but by the taxpayer. The citizen always pays.

How do you want to create affordable housing in the region?

Your own four walls offer the best protection against poverty in old age.

We therefore want to make it easier again to purchase residential property by designating additional building land - including those owned by the state - and abolishing real estate tax and the real estate transfer tax for owner-occupied real estate.

As part of a new residential construction program, up to ten percent of the property's value can also be secured by state guarantees as a substitute for equity.

Building guidelines should be purged and building cheaper.

All of these measures together will make it possible again for many more people to acquire their own living space.

In the rental area, we want to strengthen housing cooperatives by giving them priority in the allocation of building land.

The housing benefit is to be increased for needy tenants.

Martin Sielmann (FDP)

How do you want to relieve the region with the increasing volume of traffic, especially due to the excursion traffic?

I rely on road, rail and public transport.

We need the Auerberg and Wanktunnel to be completed at the same time so that the end of the traffic jam does not move from Eschenlohe to Partenkirchen.

I sit down for every half-hourly service and want WiFi and air conditioning on the trains.

We also need the buses to be synchronized with the train.

The general rule is to digitize public transport so that in future customers will no longer come to the buses, but rather the buses to the customer.

The Omobi driving service in Murnau shows how it is done.

Where do you focus on climate protection?

Energetic renovation of our houses, promotion of public transport and the train, tax breaks and grants for those who implement this.

Expansion of solar energy, but no wind farms in our WM and GAP districts.

A better, more efficient disaster control to cope with extreme weather events, as they happened again recently in West Germany.

How do you want to create affordable housing in the region?

Reduction or family discounts on real estate transfer tax.

Also for families: Introduction of the reduced VAT rate of seven percent instead of the previous 19 percent on basic construction work such as foundations, heating, windows, roofs, etc. Possibility of tax depreciation of interest on building money for families.

Promotion of social and communal housing construction in the municipalities through federal grants.

Promotion of the heritable building right.

Improved tax depreciation for rental housing construction by private individuals.

Elisabeth Löwenbourg-Brzezinski (Greens)

How do you want to relieve the region with the increasing volume of traffic, especially due to the excursion traffic?

We urgently need to invest in a good, reliable railway. We demand a second track for the Werdenfelsbahn, every half hour as far as possible and full electrification. We also need significantly better west-east public transport connections. Furthermore, we want to strengthen train stations as hubs for local mobility. We should use digitization and invest in a variety of on-demand systems (e.g. Omobi) and bike / car sharing. People arriving at train stations should get on quickly and cheaply. Last but not least, we want to promote mobility by bike. This includes our proposal for a premium for the purchase of cargo bikes, which also help to transport groceries, children and smaller loads in the country. We need safe, well-prepared bike paths in and between towns.

Where do you focus on climate protection?

We have to pull all the big levers because the climate crisis is here.

In addition to the transport turnaround, these are the energy and financial turnaround.

Solar power should be produced on any suitable roof.

Areas that have already been sealed (parking spaces) are to be turned into PV power plants.

We want to use two percent of the federal territory for wind power.

Citizens should be involved in the planning and operation of citizen energy projects and benefit financially.

We need higher CO2 pricing and social compensation mechanisms.

State investments must increasingly go into projects that protect the climate.

The EU sustainability criteria for lending should also be applied in Germany.

How do you want to create affordable housing in the region?

Through citizens' cooperatives and a municipal right of first refusal, we can gear living space more closely to the needs of the general public.

Energy-related renovations must be made less bureaucratic and allow the owners as much freedom as possible in their implementation.

Without a strong, local handicraft industry, apartments cannot be built or refurbished in an energy-efficient manner.

Training in skilled trades must therefore be made more attractive and craft workers must be relieved of bureaucracy.

Better public transport connections beyond the metropolitan areas also play an important role in affordable housing

Rolf Walther (The Left)

How do you want to relieve the region with the increasing volume of traffic, especially due to the excursion traffic?

Die Linke has presented a detailed concept for the Garmisch-Partenkirchen basin and the Loisach Valley (www.zukunftgewinnfels.de). Despite the increasing number of visitors, Garmisch-Partenkirchen could free itself from the tourist sheet metal avalanche. This opportunity should be seized. In general, the incentives and offers need to be improved. Guiding visitors through targeted rail connections, special trains, ticket systems, shuttle service, Park & Ride, through events and attractions. There are a number of positive parameters. And ultimately, the political course must be set differently. The funds for the railway expansion must be multiplied. There must be a change of direction in freight and passenger traffic. And the procedures are to be speeded up drastically. It cannot be that today we decide the half-hourly service,However, due to the process, it will become reality in 2045 at the earliest.

Where do you focus on climate protection?

We need on-site CO2 monitoring.

And the ambition of every municipality to become climate neutral.

In the action group “climate neutral on site” we try to move this.

So far, for example, only ten percent of the roofs have been used for photovoltaics.

There is a lot of room for improvement.

Public transport must be given specifications: Use of electric and hybrid buses, rental bikes at all bus stops, standardized booking apps and tickets.

Strengthening regional marketing and short transport routes are also important.

Lots of adjusting screws that you have to take care of specifically and on site.

In Bernried there is an open working group with mandate holders and citizens.

Other municipalities should follow this example.

How do you want to create affordable housing in the region?

Stop selling public land to private builders.

The municipalities have to provide sustainable and affordable rental apartments through municipal housing construction.

The housing shortage is politically caused, but each individual municipality can effectively reduce it within a few years.

And of course the legal possibilities must be exhausted.

Rent freeze, rent cap, prevention of misappropriation, change barriers, second home taxes, but also simplifications in building law and in the design statutes.

Arnold Reuss (Free Voters)

How do you want to relieve the region with the increasing volume of traffic, especially due to the excursion traffic?

The nearby east bypass MIT tunnel must come for Weilheim!

We also see a need for action in the expansion of local public transport: For example, an at least partial two-lane route on the Werdenfels Railway would be good for increasing the frequency - the results of the current economic studies must be awaited here.

A widespread use of a digital tourist traffic light would also avoid many a rush from excursion traffic.

Where do you focus on climate protection?

The expansion of renewable energies has the highest priority for us: A regional, decentralized energy transition with a mix of wind, water and solar in the form of citizen power plants must be implemented consistently - monument protection must not stand in the way of environmental protection!

Hydrogen mobility can be an important building block for the climate-friendly restructuring of the transport sector.

We are convinced that, in the long term, economy and ecology are not opposites, but are inseparable.

How do you want to create affordable housing in the region?

We want to ensure that areas are used in a targeted and sustainable manner: Building projects must be built boldly upwards and downwards.

In addition, we want to see the concept of “socially just land use” (SoBoN) implemented as an important instrument in the creation of affordable housing.

Maiken Winter (ÖDP)

How do you want to relieve the region with the increasing volume of traffic, especially due to the excursion traffic?

In view of the increasingly dramatic climatic catastrophe, it is urgently high time that road traffic planning does not focus on individual car traffic, but instead gives preference to alternative mobility. It must become easier and cheaper to use buses, trains and bikes than your own car. Specifically, this means: extend transfer times so that connections can be reached; Increase the frequency of the Werdenfelsbahn; Double-track the railway line, at the same time sufficient crossings and underpasses must be created in town; Reactivate closed train stops, at the same time there should be express trains that travel from Garmisch to Munich with only a few stops; Open the Fuchstalbahn to passenger traffic; Facilitate east-west connections through better bus connections;Expand on-call buses as with the Omobi driver service in Murnau; Ensure public transport even after 10 p.m. One solution for too many cars is not to create more space for cars, but rather to offer good alternatives!

Where do you focus on climate protection?

We really need to understand that we are about to destroy our very livelihoods. Everything that is dear to us is at stake. It should become a matter of course to do without things. Because what we have to do without today is nothing compared to what we will lose. My focus would therefore be: Massive expansion of environmental education in all areas - from kindergarten to adult education; legal anchoring of important measures - for example changes to the road traffic regulations, the building laws, among other things with a focus on climate-friendly measures; stop fossil fuels and petrol by 2025; stronger and faster increase in the CO2 price with 100 percent climate dividend. The aim must be for the CO2 concentration in the earth's atmosphere to drop to 350 ppm as quickly as possible. To do this, we also need active measures to bind CO2. To do this, I would primarily focus on peatland renaturation and humus formation.

How do you want to create affordable housing in the region?

I would try to use the existing living space more effectively - where are the uninhabited buildings?

Where do only a few people live in a large area?

Incentives for renovation, support for communities - I see this as the most suitable step to create living space and minimize the consumption of space.

Johann Gattinger (Bavaria Party)

How do you want to relieve the region with the increasing volume of traffic, especially due to the excursion traffic?

Relieving our region from the increasing traffic is difficult because we belong to the recreational area of the Munich area.

An expansion of train traffic would be advantageous: shorter intervals, two-track operation, more buses from the train station to the tourist destinations with inexpensive combination tickets.

There are also buses from Munich, for example the Bergbus from the Alpine Club.

Where do you focus on climate protection?

Climate protection means even more renewable energies and corresponding funding programs: Wind turbines responsibly without the 10h rule, PV systems and solar collectors on every new building.

How do you want to create affordable housing in the region?

Affordable living space is created by curbing immigration, for example through stricter local models.

Promotion of social housing.

Juina Wessel (the base)

How do you want to relieve the region with the increasing volume of traffic, especially due to the excursion traffic?

In contrast to the bypass projects of recent years, I would rely on the expansion of local public transport.

This includes the expansion of the Werdenfelsbahn with a faster cycle.

In addition, better cooperation between tourism associations, nature conservation associations and authorities with regard to infrastructure and environmental education could help to create incentives for people to leave their cars behind, for example by expanding the cycle path network.

In local public transport, we need creative concepts such as shared taxis, minibuses and buses that are timed across the district for everyday use.

The upgrading and promotion of the local recreation areas of the metropolitan areas could also help to relieve the pressure.

Where do you focus on climate protection?

The focus is on a sustainable environmental policy. This includes the conversion of production, the economy, trade and transport to ecological sustainability. The party dieBasis is committed to avoiding waste, saving energy and resources, sustainable management and educating people about cycles, interactions and relationships in nature. We are in favor of targeted forest reforestation instead of cutting down large sections of forest. The resource consumption of meat is very high. This can be counteracted with a significant reduction in meat consumption and animal welfare. By promoting regional products or creating self-sufficient systems or municipalities, long transport routes and CO2 emissions can be avoided.

How do you want to create affordable housing in the region?

The population should be more involved in the planning of living space.

Speculation with building land is to be stopped.

No profit may be made from the rededication of natural areas as building land.

Social and ecological housing construction, which serves the general public without the intention of making a profit, is to be promoted.

Likewise, non-profit and cooperative forms of ownership are to be promoted.

Housing cooperatives are to receive the status of the non-profit.

Private investors should provide a fixed proportion of newly constructed residential buildings as social housing for residential construction.

Werner Knigge (Volt)

How do you want to relieve the region with the increasing volume of traffic, especially due to the excursion traffic?

Complex solutions are needed to solve the problem: Strengthening rail traffic through attractive prices for weekenders and good connections to local bus services;

Information (digital, radio), especially in the Munich area, about the traffic situation in the excursion areas;

Park & Hike projects with parking spaces between Munich and the excursion destinations as well as transfer options to train and bus.

Where do you focus on climate protection?

Climate protection is one of our most important challenges. Volt is committed to becoming CO2 neutral by 2035 and climate neutral by 2040. To do this, we need to rethink many areas. Some examples: A pan-European energy strategy with the aim of a decentralized energy supply; Promoting European businesses and technical innovations to achieve climate change goals without jeopardizing jobs and losing efficiency; Promotion of renewable energy projects; greater digitization, which, for example, helps agriculture to become more efficient and environmentally friendly; Creating incentives to use the environmental network, i.e. on foot, by bike and public transport; Increasing the useful life of electrical appliances; CO2 pricing with the possibility of repayment to the citizens (climate dividend);more environmentally conscious behavior of each individual. A more climate-conscious life can also mean a plus in quality of life. For example, less commuting through more home office, healthier diet. No plastic.

How do you want to create affordable housing in the region?

When it comes to affordable housing, the free market economy is reaching its limits.

The state must intervene to regulate this.

Adequate and affordable housing is a fundamental right for us.

We want to establish a new public non-profit housing scheme.

We can only do this if the federal, state and local governments work together.

They should provide affordable building space for housing, promote new forms of coexistence and protect living space from misuse.

We are strengthening the non-profit housing sector.

To this end, we promote investments in social housing and cooperatives for permanently affordable housing.

The building law is to be expanded to include matters of the common good.

Ricard Ryssel (non-party)

How do you want to relieve the region with the increasing volume of traffic, especially due to the excursion traffic?

I am happy about every tourist who loves our landscape, recharges his batteries here and also strengthens the economy.

As long as nature is respected and rules are observed.

Even so, the volume of traffic is sometimes a problem.

That is why the expansion of the Werdenfelsbahn is very important in order to create more capacity during rush hour.

The prices also have to be right.

This is the only way we can make commuters and day trippers an attractive offer.

We also need bypass roads for places with heavy traffic in order to protect residents from traffic nuisance.

A significant reduction in individual traffic in the short term is not to be expected.

Where do you focus on climate protection?

The main causes of climate change are not private individuals, but large corporations from a few industries outside of our constituency. The solution lies in the combination of sanctioning environmentally harmful industries and promoting ecological action for companies and private individuals. However, there have been weather phenomena such as temperature fluctuations, extreme weather conditions and floods in the last few centuries. We have to be prepared for that. Renatured rivers and a reduction in soil compaction by large-scale agricultural operations play a decisive role in flood protection in particular. Small and medium-sized farms that act in a nature-friendly manner, such as in our constituency, must receive more financial support instead of giving EU subsidies to large farms.

How do you want to create affordable housing in the region?

Affordable housing is a fundamental right for everyone.

The creation of rental apartments by private individuals and cooperatives must be given greater support.

Municipalities should become more involved by creating housing themselves and making it possible to provide favorable grounds for new housing projects.

By providing community-owned land or pragmatic permits or the development of building land.

This also applies to building your own home.

Of course, the impact on nature must be taken into account.

I would like to combine this with local models who prefer the housing needs of the local people to the large number of people moving to our very attractive region.
