State federal awards were given in Aying - various people from the district were also honored for their voluntary work.

District

- Cordiality is often written on the face of District Administrator Christoph Göbel (CSU).

But when the head of the district is allowed to give honors, the radiance is even greater.

Especially when appointments have to be postponed for a long time due to the pandemic.

This has now happened and seen in the Brauereigasthof Hotel Aying.

The 46-year-old was able to bring joy and share joy in a ceremony.

And emphasized how much heart, commitment and free time are necessary to work for the common good.

Because the state and federal awards were given primarily for honorary office.

Josef Mauterer (Aying, for 25 years) and Alois Spies (Kirchheim, for 40 years) could look forward to a certificate for their work as field jury members.

“As the mayor of Graefelfing, I still remember that I always relied on the field jury.

They have a lot of knowledge that cannot be found in any file. "

Medal of Merit on behalf of the Federal President

Peter Friedrich and Korbinian Kroiß (both Helfendorf) and Susanne Vordermaier (Ottobrunn, see box) were awarded the Badge of Honor of the Bavarian Prime Minister. On behalf of Federal President Frank-Walter Steinmeier, there was the Medal of Merit of the Order of Merit of the Federal Republic of Germany for Horst Fleck (Ottobrunn), Hans Loidl (Siegertsbrunn), Christina Nikolova Toteva-Vesselinova (Unterföhring), Helmut Six (Grünwald) and Gerlinde Zinkeisen (Straßlach) .

These five honorees showed how different the “special merits acquired for the people and the state” (document text) can be.

Zinkeisen was one of the founders of the asylum helper group in her community and is responsible for setting up a German-Cambodian non-governmental organization and for the association “Help for children in Cambodia”.

Young people in the Southeast Asian kingdom should be given opportunities for a better future.

Action against trafficking in women

Toteva-Vesselinova founded the FLORIKA project, which is committed to promoting and supporting disadvantaged girls from a Roma neighborhood. The honoree came to the project through her work as a social worker for a counseling center, because many women had fallen victim to trafficking in women and wanted to return to their Bulgarian homeland. Helmut Six stands for international understanding, be it through his co-founding of the Euro-Arab Friendship Circle, be it through the establishment of a foundation with his wife Angela and a chair at the University of Philosophy in Munich or through his personal commitment. In his own words, however, it was always important to Six to acquire his own knowledge on site. That's why he often sat in the car and drove to Morocco or Pakistan to get to know the people there. It is important to "preserve the diversity of religions, cultures and society". He likes to stand up for this with his life motto: "Dialogue is the mother tongue of mankind".

Horst Fleck brings his commitment above all in the Free State.

Since 2001 he has been chairman of the working group of parents 'associations in Bavarian day-care centers and is committed to the further development of parents' work.

Hans Loidl's name, on the other hand, is always associated with Siegertsbrunn.

Here he was chairman of the ETC Siegertsbrunn for 40 years;

here he has been chairman of the Leonhardi Committee since 1984 and is therefore the constant, also as store manager, at the annual Leonhardi Festival.

Customs care is in the best of hands with Loidl.

The architect has also been involved in the municipal council since 1990 and also in the board of trustees of the Munich-Land community foundation.

The good soul of the Ottostraßenfest

Normally the phone never stands still at Susanne Vordermaier from Ottobrunn. But both in 2020 and this year, the Ottostraßenfest had to be canceled. The 58-year-old was there from the start, in 1986 at the first street festival. Since 2008 she has been the organizer and contact person for all exhibitors who present themselves at the festival. And it should only be mentioned in passing that up to 25,000 visitors have already attended the festival in one day. That is why her District Administrator Göbel also attested that “Ottobrunn community life could not be imagined without her”. It is thanks to her organizational skills that the Ottostraßenfest is an institution in the Munich district. And a guarantee for a party that you have to visit. If it can take place again.

Vordermaier also hopes: "If the Oktoberfest can take place next year, then the Ottostraßenfest will also take place." The concept for 2022 is already in place. Showmen and participants have already asked again this year whether they can make a note of the date. Already in January. But everyone had to be put off for the coming year. “We didn't want to organize a street festival with all the restrictions that could then also become a problem. That's why we canceled this year with a heavy heart. After all, the good reputation of our street festival is also at stake, ”says Vordermaier.

Of course, it has been comparatively quieter in the past few months, because otherwise files and documents pile up at the living room table at the Vordermaiers, the phone no longer stands still and the homeliness in the house is rather neglected so that the Ottostraßenfest also works. A lot of work is put into the annual event to make it above all a family celebration. The tasks include from the stand fee, to requirements of public safety and order, to electricity, water and garbage. The fact that all of this is done on a voluntary basis deserves recognition. A lot of heart and soul goes into it. And Susanne Vordermaier has a heart, and she approaches everyone involved with the same warmth so that the party is a real success. Susanne Vordermaier is not only hoping for this in 2022. This also applies to the Christmas market, which won't be available in Ottobrunn this year.
