In 2020 the Tegernseer Tal Montgolfiade celebrated its 20th anniversary, this year it had to be canceled due to Corona.
But how about a new edition of the balloon meeting in 2022?

- Like so many other things, the popular Tegernsee Valley Montgolfiade fell victim to the corona pandemic this year.
After the TTT and the German Free Ballooning Association initially wanted to postpone the event from the beginning of the year to April, they finally had to cancel the hot air balloon meeting entirely.

But what about a new edition next year? "As things stand today, we intend to do the Montgolfiade," explains TTT event manager Peter Rie. As usual, at the end of January / beginning of February, the Montgolfiade 2022 could take place - provided the infection situation allows it. But Rie also makes it clear that there will probably no longer be a Montgolfiade on the scale that was experienced at the 2020 anniversary. Framework program, party and nightly balloon glow should be significantly restricted. The rush of visitors was just too big recently. "The mass flows are difficult to control," argues Rie. Therefore, the Montgolfiade will have a smaller dimension in the future. Passenger trips and admiring the balloons on the ground and in the air, but that will also be possible in the future,assures Rie.
Is the balloon meeting possible again on the Wiesse lake promenade?
TTT managing director Christian Kausch also confirms this approach.
In future, the focus should be more on the needs of balloonists and their professional exchange.
As far as the venue is concerned, according to Kausch, the TTT is aiming to hold the Montgolfiade on the site on the Wiesseer lake promenade in 2022 as well.
The prerequisite is that Strüngmann's company Athos can make the property available again.
As is well known, a hotel is to be built on the site by the lake in the long term.
