The workshops of the branch of the General Company for Roads and Bridges in the Eastern Province have started implementing a project to maintain and rehabilitate the asphalt shirt in a number of streets in Deir ez-Zor.

The head of Deir ez-Zor city council, Raed Mandeel, said in a statement to SANA reporter that after completing the rehabilitation of the infrastructure related to sewage, water, electricity and communications in a number of streets in the city’s neighborhoods, work is currently being done to maintain and rehabilitate the asphalt shirt in them, according to a contract concluded with the General Company for Roads. And bridges with a contract value of 25 million Syrian pounds as a first stage, during which a number of streets in the neighborhoods of Jubaila and Al-Qusour were targeted, pointing out that the project aims to improve the service reality in the city and facilitate the process of linking and moving between neighborhoods.

And the Director of the General Company for Roads and Bridges branch in the Eastern Region, Engineer Aziz Ezzi, indicated that the works include cutting the damaged areas in the road body and then supplying them with selected materials, rolling them and spraying them with “MC Zero” and then they are supplied with asphalt paver, pointing out that work is going on at an accelerated pace to finish the work. All work due to the intensity of irrigated traffic in these streets and before the arrival of the rainy season.
