FPÖ boss Herbert Kickl responded to rumors that he had secretly been vaccinated against Corona.

That is why there was a curious press conference in Austria.

Vienna - In many places people have to provide 3G proof.

That means: If you want to go to a restaurant in Bavaria, for example, you have to show that you have been vaccinated against Corona, have recovered from it or have tested negative.

In some places even 2G applies.

A negative test is then not enough, only a vaccination or recovery from Covid will be accepted.

In Austria, there was now a different type of 2G proof: FPÖ boss Herbert Kickl wanted to prove that he was neither vaccinated against Corona nor recovered.

Has the head of the right-wing populist FPÖ secretly been vaccinated against Corona?

Kickl tried to refute such allegations on Friday with a high-profile appearance.

An unusual step that Kickl took, according to

Spiegel,

with the detection of a negative antibody test at a press conference in Vienna.

As a reason, he gave rumors that he had secretly been vaccinated against the virus.

He described this as a "frontal attack" on his credibility.

Has the FPÖ boss secretly got himself vaccinated against Corona?

Kickl wants to provide 2G proof

According to

Spiegel,

rumors had

previously

surfaced that Kickl - unlike what he had portrayed in public - had been vaccinated. He blamed the conservative ÖVP for the campaign. With a video and a negative antibody test, he wanted to refute the claims. He also filed a cease and desist lawsuit. "It really gets down to business when rumors and unfounded accusations are raised in public in order to damage the credibility of a political competitor." But that was not enough for Chancellor Sebastian Kurz's ruling party. She demanded an affidavit from Kickl, as the portal continues to report.

In Austria, around 60 percent are currently fully vaccinated against Corona.

The ÖVP blames corona deniers, who are supported by the FPÖ, for the stagnation of the vaccination campaign.
