Schneider Hospital said that the death of the 12-year-old boy, who was fatally injured in a fire that broke out at his home in Petah Tikva on Thursday morning, was determined today (Saturday).

The hospital said, "The 12-year-old who was hospitalized in the intensive care unit at the Schneider Center for Pediatrics after the fire in Petah Tikva, died tonight. We share the family's grief."

The boy was taken to the Schneider Center for Pediatrics on Thursday morning, where he was resuscitated and anesthetized and his condition was defined as human, after being injured by burns and inhaling smoke.

A 50-year-old man, a friend of the father of the family, and the 12-year-old two younger brothers were also seriously injured in the fire.

They were lightly injured and were also evacuated to Schneider Hospital.

The hospital said of them that "they are suffering from smoke inhalation and their condition is defined as mild. They remained hospitalized in the ward for observation."

The fire occurred on the first floor of the building.

In the apartment were the father and his three children, aged 12, 10 and 8, who came to him for the holiday vacation from the boarding schools where they study.

Along with them was also a friend of the father in the apartment, who came to stay.

One of the neighbors said: "There were flames and smoke coming out of the apartment. The father and friend managed to get the two small children out, but were unable to get the eldest son out. When the firefighters arrived they went in and took him out."
