An earthquake of magnitude 5.1 on the Richter scale was recorded on Friday evening in Guadeloupe, two weeks after a tremor of almost equivalent intensity in the archipelago, according to the European Seismological Center.
The earthquake, recorded at 11:12 local (03:12 GMT), lasted a few seconds and was felt in several municipalities of the archipelago as "
one or more tremors
", according to testimonies posted on social networks.
According to the European Seismological Center, the epicenter was located 55 kilometers north of Moule (commune of Grande-Terre), 45 kilometers deep.
It was not immediately possible to know whether the earthquake caused any damage.
On September 9, an earthquake of magnitude 5.3 on the Richter scale was felt at 8:43 p.m. local time, according to the seismological observatory of Guadeloupe.
There had been no damage.
