A 40-year-old woman was moderately injured today (Saturday) after she was hit by a lighting pole that collapsed on her in Holon.

The pillar fell on the woman on Yigal Yadin Street in the city, apparently due to strong winds.

The MDA team that arrived at the scene provided her with medical assistance and evacuated her to Sheba Tel Hashomer Hospital, where she was conscious with injuries to her head and limbs. "It's just a miracle of Sukkot," said MDA pharmacist Naomi Zvi.

"We saw a large light pole that fell on the sidewalk and nearby lay a 40-year-old woman fully conscious, she was in pain and suffered injuries to her limbs and head. We provided her with primary medical care in the field, which included medication. "She told us in a way that the incident took place while she was walking with the children and in a miracle the event did not end any more difficult."

A similar incident occurred last month when a 60-year-old woman died after a tree fell on her on the Yigal Alon promenade in Tiberias.

During the incident, winds were blowing at a speed of 70 km / h, which led to the tree breaking and collapsing on the woman. MDA teams who arrived at the scene first reported a woman trapped and unconscious, and later had to be pronounced dead.

Senior MDA paramedic Yoel Nagar said: "When we reached the promenade, we saw the wounded woman lying on the lawn trapped under a large tree trunk that collapsed and hit her.

"In parallel with her rescue operations, we performed medical tests, but she was without signs of life and suffered from a very severe multi-system injury and we have no choice but to determine her death."
