It has now been a week since the Cumbre Vieja volcano in the Canary Islands erupted.
Two new eruptive vents, from which lava flows were coming out, opened at the volcano, said the Canary Islands Volcanological Institute on Friday.

On Thursday, one of the two lava flows stopped advancing.
On the other hand, the second, 500 m wide, continues to advance.

The neighborhoods of Tajuya, Tacande de Abajo and the non-evacuated part of Tacande de Arriba, have received an evacuation order from the authorities.
In total, more than 6,000 people had to leave their homes.

For now, specialists are more concerned about the possibility of lava reaching the coast.
