Berlin - Germany's capital has twelve constituencies for the federal election.

Around 3,669,000 people live in Berlin on 891.7 km².

Of these, 2,503,070 were entitled to vote in 2017.

The turnout was 75.6%.

The multicultural social structure of the metropolis is characterized by a proportion of foreigners of 15.5% and a proportion of more than 24 percent of residents with a migration background.

The daily flood of commuters and tourists also determines the structure of the workplace areas.

More than 60% of the jobs that are subject to social security contributions in Berlin are in the services sector.
