At the Culture Palace theater in Homs, the Syrian National Band for Arab Music, led by Maestro Adnan Fathallah, and in cooperation with the Cham Wings Airlines Company, celebrated the princess of singing and song “Asmahan” through an evening performed by singer Waad al-Bahri under the title “Salute to Asmahan.”

The evening program, which was chosen by the band, as part of a series of evenings during which great Syrian figures in the field of music were honored.

Waad moved with her voice among the most beautiful songs sung by Asmahan for the great Arab poets and composers, from Farid al-Atrash, Muhammad Abd al-Wahhab and Muhammad al-Qasbaji. People in Vienna.

In a statement to Sana Cultural, Al-Bahri indicated that her standing today on the stage for the first time in Homs in front of an audience with a unique artistic taste carried her a great responsibility to present a special evening to a tasteful audience, pointing out that she was raised on her love for Asmahan’s voice and her songs, as she was chosen to sing all the songs of this artist in the Asmahan series in 2008, which won several awards in several festivals.

Muhammad Zaghloul, managing director of the National Arab Music Ensemble, indicated that the evening today comes within the band’s plan to shed light on the Syrian musical artistic personalities within a systematic plan that began in 2013 through the establishment of a Syrian musical notes library to revive the remembrance and works of great Arab musicians in general and Syrians in particular.

It is noteworthy that the National Ensemble for Arab Music consists of seventy musicians and singers. It was formed with the establishment of the Higher Institute of Music in 1990 and was restructured to take its professional form in 2003 by Maestro Issam Rafea, to appoint Maestro Adnan Fathallah in 2013 as its leader.

As for the singer, Waad Al-Bahri, born in As-Suwayda Governorate in 1981, holds a bachelor’s degree in business administration. She entered the field of art from her early childhood, after her family discovered her talent early, and reached the final stage in one of the programs for sponsoring Arab talents. In the Arab Song Festival and participated in many festivals inside and outside Syria.
