The Arab Writers Union, in cooperation with the Directorate of Culture in Aleppo and the Al-Mashhad Library, held a ceremony honoring the winners of the “Jerusalem between Liberation and Normalization” book reading award, at the Arab Cultural Center in Aziziyah.
Dr. Muhammad Hourani, head of the Writers Union, spoke in a statement to SANA reporter about the importance of this competition in light of the many attempts to occupy the Arab mind, distort it and perpetuate normalization. Young people are subjected to attempts to rob their minds.
In turn, Jaber Al-Sajour, Director of Culture in Aleppo, pointed out the importance of this literary activity because it comes within the framework of networking between the local community and stakeholders to raise and strengthen the presence of cultural affairs in national issues, especially among young people.
Inas Hawkan, Director of Al-Mashhad Library, indicated that the library organizes these activities related to reading and activates them periodically with the aim of building a bright and positive thought, especially with regard to the issue of Palestine, which is an important axis in our lives.
Among the participants in the event, the young poet Tasneem Muhammad Sultan presented a well-balanced poem titled The Capital of Light, which talks about Jerusalem and the crimes and violations of the Zionist occupation against it and the sacrifices of the people of Palestine to confront this occupation, stressing the necessity of always striving to consolidate the doctrine of restoring land and rights because Jerusalem is a homeland for all.
The young poet Fatima Dhurair shared a poem about the Palestinian issue, pointing out the importance of this cultural initiative as it provides the opportunity for poets to present productions that glorify the resistance and affirm the Arabness of Palestine.
