The officers of the Kowloon City Police District Serious Crime Squad, the Anti-Triad Action Squad and the Hung Hom District Miscellaneous Investigation Squad, based on reports and investigations, raided a residential unit on Fat Kwong Street, Hung Hom at about 10 o'clock last night (24th), and smashed one. The remaining 17 men and 16 women in the unit were arrested for gambling in gambling establishments and for drinking in premises without a liquor license. At the same time, they were issued fixed penalty notices for violating the gathering restriction order.

During the operation, the officers seized chips with a face value of about 550,000 yuan, a Texas Hold'em poker table, an electric sparrow table, and a batch of beer and spirits.

All arrested men and women are now being detained for investigation.

In addition, the Organized Crime and Triad Investigation Bureau launched an anti-crime operation code-named "Flying" at about 8 pm last night, smashing suspicions in Cheung Sha Bay, Mong Kok, Yau Ma, Wong Tai Sin and Kwun Tong respectively. Illegal gambling stalls arrested 52 men and 18 women, aged between 16 and 61, of which 5 were arrested on suspicion of operating a gambling establishment and violating the Prevention and Control of Diseases (Regulations and Instructions) (Business and Premises Regulations) (No. 599F) Chapter); another 65 people were arrested for gambling in a gambling establishment and for violating the gathering restriction order, and were issued fixed penalty notices. Approximately 300,000 yuan in cash and about 700,000 yuan of chips were seized during the operation. All arrested men and women have been approved. Bail pending investigation, must report to the police in late October.

The police reiterated that combating triads and their illegal activities and intercepting illegal sources of income have always been one of the police's primary operational objectives.
