How did the people from Bavaria vote in the federal election in 2021?
The results from the state at a glance.
Munich - The Free State of Bavaria extends over more than 70,500 km² in the south-east of the republic. In 2020, 13.14 million inhabitants lived in Germany's largest area, which corresponds to a population density of 186 inhabitants per km². The country, which used to be dominated by agriculture, is now one of the economically strongest federal states. In the 2017 federal election, 9,522,371 citizens were eligible to vote. The times when the regional party CSU achieved absolute majorities in elections are long gone. But it is an interesting aspect of this federal election to what extent the country of the non-candidate Markus Söder will contribute to the success or failure of the CDU chancellor candidate Armin Laschet.
