At about 1 am today (26th), a BMW private car was driving along Tai Kok Tsui Road towards Mong Kok. When it reached the junction of Ivy Street, it was too late to stop and crash into a taxi that was parked in front of the light.

After the two cars collided, two South Asian men immediately abandoned the car and wanted to escape. A police officer passed by the scene and subdued a man on the spot. The other man was also subdued by the police officer while fleeing.

The police blocked the area for investigation. After preliminary investigations, the two were arrested on suspicion of "vehicle theft", "driving without a license" and "driving without a third party insurance."

Drug detection dogs were called to the scene to assist in the search for evidence, but no drugs were found in the car.

The rear of the hit taxi was damaged. Fortunately, the taxi driver and the two female passengers were not injured.

According to the footage provided by Mr. Lin, the taxi driver involved, it can be seen that when the taxi was parked at a light spot on Tai Kok Tsui Road near Ivy Street, a BMW drove at a high speed from behind, unable to stop and ram into the taxi. The taxi stopped a few meters ahead and stopped.

The driver and two female passengers in the taxi screamed in shock.

About ten seconds after the two cars collided, the two men wanted to abandon the car and escape. However, when they got off the car, a plainclothes police officer arrived and arrested the BMW male driver. Another South Asian man fled immediately. The police officers proceeded immediately. He was hunted down and later successfully subdued.
