Tartous-Sana
The Tartous Education Directorate announced the registration of 15 confirmed cases of Coronavirus in the governorate’s regions, as a result of which 5 classrooms were closed in each of the Schools for Excellence in Tartous City and Beit Alyan School.
The Director of Education, Ali Shahoud, said in a statement to SANA reporter: It has been confirmed that five students and ten teachers have been infected, pointing out that the directorate has taken all precautionary measures to prevent the virus, and that there are suspected infections in a number of Drakeish schools, and the necessary action will be taken after the results of the smears are issued.
Shahoud indicated that the suspect was given a five-day leave of absence pending the release of the smear results, and that he would be isolated if confirmed.
Shahoud called on all educational cadres in the governorate to take the vaccine because it is the only effective treatment in the face of the virus, as 16,000 doses of vaccine have been allocated to the Directorate. It is dense in the areas of Safita and Mashta al-Helou, while it is still limited in other areas.
