15% of trained returnees were diagnosed with corona Israel today

2021-09-28T18:04:49.242Z

Most patients: young and unvaccinated • 19 were hospitalized in critical condition, 4 died • Senior Ministry of Health warns: "If the HMOs are not organized - there will be chaos in the testing system again on holiday evenings"

Out of about 30,000 trained returnees, about 3,440 verified people have been discovered so far, of whom 25 have been hospitalized, and 19 of them have been in critical condition.

4 of the hospitalized died, with two of them dying with certainty from Corona, and for two more the cause of death is still under investigation.

81% of patients were not vaccinated, the vast majority (91%) under the age of 50.

"This is a positive 15%, it's a very high rate. The cooperation of these verified people in the investigations was very partial, but I hope they kept themselves and their family members," says a senior health official.

The number of verified patients has decreased in recent days, as has the rate of positive tests and the coefficient of infection.

But the volatility and change in the nature of the tests on holidays make it difficult to determine a trend.

The health system estimates, however, that returning to school, along with returning from vacations abroad and returning to school, will lead to an upward trend in morbidity in the next two weeks only after which a decline will begin, with restraining factors being the public's immunization and more careful behavior.

The health system warns that on Tuesdays to Thursdays large loads are expected in the testing complexes due to the end of the holidays, return from abroad and the results of the antigen operation - the quick tests before the start of school, which may lead to further tests.

The Home Front Command operates about 160 testing complexes, an increase of 30 complexes compared to Rosh Hashanah.

However, a senior member of the health system warns that "the health funds are not giving the maximum yet, and there is a fear of congestion, especially when the holiday comes out on Tuesday evening. If they do not give the right answer, there will be very large queues "Extended on the eve of the holiday at the HMOs, it will not be good. They open less than 50% of their checkpoints, which means - again huge queues."

The senior also estimated that as a percentage of the 1.9 million students who perform rapid tests before returning to school may be found to be positive.

The tests are designed to reveal latent morbidity and allow for a safer opening of studies.

Although the Ministry of Health sought to set up a system for reporting the results of the tests, after no data on the response to the tests and their results were collected during the operation on the eve of the opening of the studies, this has not yet happened.

"Returning to school will create classroom adhesions, even though attempts are being made to do actions that have not yet been finally agreed upon. It is absolutely clear that returning to schools will lead to more morbidity," the senior says.
