Manila-Sana
An earthquake measuring 5.7 on the Richter scale hit the south of the Philippine capital, Manila, today.
Reuters quoted the Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology "Phivolcs" as saying that the tremor occurred at a depth of 74 kilometers in the province of Occidental Mindoro and was felt by residents of the capital.
The Philippines is located in the geologically active Pacific region of the Ring of Fire and experiences frequent earthquakes, especially in the south.
