A number of civil society activities in the town of Kafram in the western Homs countryside launched an initiative to light the streets with solar energy.

The mayor of Kafram, Eng. Khalil Ibrahim, said in a statement to SANA reporter that the initiative included the installation of more than 50 lighting devices in the main and subsidiary streets of the town, and 80 percent of the town’s streets were lit, pointing out that the initiative, which received support from expatriates and supporters of the Kafram Charitable Association, is a model.
