A number of civil society activities in the town of Kafram in the western Homs countryside launched an initiative to light the streets with solar energy.
The mayor of Kafram, Eng. Khalil Ibrahim, said in a statement to SANA reporter that the initiative included the installation of more than 50 lighting devices in the main and subsidiary streets of the town, and 80 percent of the town’s streets were lit, pointing out that the initiative, which received support from expatriates and supporters of the Kafram Charitable Association, is a model. To be emulated in developing the reality of services in local communities and in reflecting the love of belonging to the homeland.
In turn, the head of the Charitable Society in Kafram Rezk Shahoud stated that the association always seeks to provide social, humanitarian and service services to the town and its people with the aim of developing community services and enhancing the spirit of giving among individuals, noting the support the initiative received from the townspeople and the role of civil initiatives in supporting the work of administrative units in light of These exceptional circumstances
