The interventions of the members of the annual general conference of the Bar Association, which was held today in Aleppo, focused on the demand for an increase in the pensions of lawyers, the amendment of death aid, the unification of the financial system of the union and the agency system for lawyers, the development of laws related to the legal profession and the development of an appropriate mechanism for the affiliation of lawyers and new graduates of the Bar.

The members of the conference also demanded the expansion of the Justice Palace in Tartous, the appropriate geographical redistribution of the courts in Safita, the transition to the schedule of professors, the performance of the mandatory service for lawyers in their governorates, the notification of the Syndicate of the judicial prosecution of any lawyer, the activation of the immunity of lawyers, the issuance of a law regulating the profession, opening the real estate registry in Raqqa, equipping the judicial palace in Deir ez-Zor and providing it with judicial cadres. .

In his speech, Eng. Hilal Al-Hilal, Assistant Secretary-General of the Arab Socialist Baath Party, praised the role of lawyers in protecting justice, preserving rights, strengthening popular cohesion, national unity and the rule of law, calling on lawyers to exert more efforts and strengthen professional and union work to confront the war targeting Syria and its consequences, fighting corruption and protecting rights.

Justice Ahmed El-Sayed, Minister of Justice, pointed to the importance of active participation in the conference, which contributes to consolidating the values ​​of justice, overcoming the difficulties facing the profession, and intensifying efforts to implement laws and regulations that enshrine the rule of law and serve the country and the citizen.

Firas Fares, head of the Syrian Bar Association, pointed out the importance of the conference’s discussions in re-evaluating union work, strengthening the positives, addressing the negatives, and raising issues related to the legal profession in all transparency to develop it and work to protect citizens’ rights and integrate with government work in the public interest.

Najdat Afash, head of the Aleppo Bar Association branch, stressed the continuation of work to activate the legal profession in order to preserve the rights of the citizen and to establish the values ​​of justice and equality by ensuring the application of regulations and laws.

The two-day conference was attended by Eng. Huda Al-Homsi, member of the central leadership of the Arab Socialist Baath Party, head of the Central Office of Popular Organizations and Professional Syndicates, secretary of the Baath Party branches in the city and the university, and commander of Aleppo police.
