For the first time, no incumbent Chancellor is applying for re-election.
In the constituency of Ostallgäu (257), which includes Kaufbeuren, Memmingen and parts of Unterallgäu in addition to the district of the same name, eleven direct candidates are running for the Bundestag.

About the constituency of Ostallgäu and the candidates:
The constituency of Ostallgäu is the largest constituency in our region in the 2021 federal election.
A total of
around 250,000 eligible voters
will be asked to cast their vote on Sunday, September 26th.
The constituency of Ostallgäu geographically comprises the district of Ostallgäu, the independent cities of Kaufbeuren and Memmingen and 33 communities in Unterallgäu.
The rest of the Unterallgäu is part of the Neu-Ulm constituency.

CSU with 42 percent of the second votes
.
At that time, the AfD followed with 13.3 percent.
More and more for a mandate
More and more people in the Free State want to get involved in politics.
This comes from a message from the state returning officer Dr.
Thomas Gößl.
"A total of 967 women and men are applying for a mandate in the Bundestag in Bavaria," said the regional returning officer.
"This corresponds to an
increase of almost 42 percent
compared to the 2017 federal election, when 662 people ran." Gößl also stated that a little less than a third of the candidates are women (29 percent).
Probably also worth knowing: "The average age of the candidates is 45 years."
