CDU after historically poor result in Mecklenburg

According to projections, the SPD has clearly won in Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania, and the CDU has done worse than ever. Their top candidate Michael Sack does not rule out a resignation.

The SPD is the big winner of the state elections in Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania.

Projections by ARD and ZDF see the Social Democrats at 39.2 and 38.4 percent, respectively.
