In early August, the defendant noticed that the victim had left his vehicle driven and entered a store in Moshav Zeitan.

Defendant took the opportunity, got into the vehicle and began to flee.

The owner of the vehicle who noticed this stood in front of him but the defendant did not stop but hit the victim in the lower body, who was forced to hang on the hood to avoid being run over.

A police officer who witnessed the incident began chasing his police vehicle after the fleeing vehicle using the public address system and horns in order to get the defendant to stop.

For several minutes the defendant continued on a wild ride as he shifted the vehicle to the sides to cause the victim to fall.

At one point he even tried to collide with other objects and vehicles in order to injure the victim in order for him to release his grip on the vehicle.

Upon arriving at the SAH neighborhood in Lod, the defendant stopped the vehicle and began fleeing on foot when the police officer began chasing him but was unable to locate him.

A police investigation opened at the Lod station following the incident led to a suspect, a 40-year-old Lod resident, who was arrested for questioning.

At the end of the investigation, a serious indictment was filed today against the suspect for aggravated sabotage offenses, risking human life in a transportation lane, theft of a vehicle and more.

A request was also submitted for his continued detention until the end of the legal proceedings.
