In appreciation of their role and efforts in removing pollution from Jableh Beach, Lattakia Governorate honored today the workers involved in removing fuel pollution from the beach. The honor included 135 workers from the Directorate of Agriculture, Jableh City Council and Civil Defense.
During his meeting with the workers in the Sultan Park in the city of Jableh, Lattakia Governor Ibrahim Khader Al-Salem praised their efforts and dedication to work, stressing that they contributed to removing the effects of pollution with great professionalism.
A number of workers expressed their appreciation for this initiative, which expresses the interest in the workers and their efforts.
Jableh Beach was contaminated with fuel leaks from the Baniyas thermal station at the end of last August in a number of locations, including Buhais, Mina Al Izza, Dahiyat Al Majd and Al Fakhoora, and they were dealt with over a period of more than two weeks.
