Opinion | Despite the deaths of the terrorists: Hamas does not want escalation Israel today

2021-09-28T10:29:40.778Z

Palestinian terrorist organizations do not want to escalate the situation, but continue to work tirelessly to rehabilitate the terrorist infrastructure in the West Bank • The Palestinian Authority, for its part, continues security cooperation with Israel • The day is not far off when Hamas will take over the West Bank and make us miss Rais

Since the end of Operation Defensive Shield in May 2002, which led to the end of the second intifada, IDF forces entered Palestinian cities in Judea and Samaria and crushed the military infrastructure of Hamas and Islamic Jihad, which sent suicide bombers into the streets of Israel, killing hundreds of Israeli civilians in cold blood. Additional - Palestinian terrorist organizations are working to rehabilitate and reactivate the terrorist cells and terrorist activities in the West Bank against IDF soldiers and Israeli civilian targets inside and outside the Green Line.

At the same time, the IDF and the defense establishment are working to thwart any terrorist infrastructure that tries to raise its head and operate in Judea and Samaria, with most of the activity focused on the city of Jenin in the northern West Bank, the Hebron city district in the south and the Ramallah refugee camps. .

Israel's success in arresting and thwarting most terrorist operatives and the failure of Palestinian terrorist organizations to rehabilitate their military infrastructure throughout the West Bank is primarily related to the collection and analysis of quality intelligence and targeted and vigorous military activity against those terrorist operatives and infrastructures.

However, the collection of intelligence and its translation into successful military operations in Judea and Samaria could not have been carried out satisfactorily without the intelligence coordination and security cooperation with the security forces of the Palestinian Authority and its leader, Majed Faraj.

Faraj resolutely leads security cooperation with Israel, despite the political stalemate and deadlock in negotiations between Jerusalem and Ramallah over the past decade. The most serious national risk to the Palestinian Authority and its institutions comes from those terrorist organizations and their operatives, who are vigorously seeking to rehabilitate the terrorist infrastructure in refugee camps, cities and communities in the West Bank.

Pointing the finger of blame at Abu Mazen as the one responsible for the continuation of security cooperation and the imposition of responsibility on him and the Palestinian security apparatus as collaborators with Israel, a pomp in Hamas magazines and Palestinian social networks even before Operation Wall Guard.

The harsh criticism leveled at the Palestinian Authority and its security forces continued during the hunt for the six Palestinian terrorists who escaped from Gilboa Prison and their capture, and is now intensifying with the targeted assassination of Hamas operatives and terrorist infrastructure and terrorist attacks in Israeli and Jewish settlements.

The IDF's preparations for the possibility that Hamas, Islamic Jihad and other armed Palestinian factions in Gaza will respond by firing rockets at and justified Israel, Gaza.

From the reactions sent by Hamas and Islamic Jihad spokesmen in the wake of the morning events and the killing of Palestinian terrorist operatives, it can be learned that Hamas and armed factions in the Gaza Strip do not intend to drag Gaza on another military adventure. At the same time, Hamas sees such developments as a golden opportunity to continue to erode and undermine the legitimacy of Abu Mazen and his regime and mark them as collaborating with the Zionist occupation forces - all with the aim of serving the Hamas leadership's master plan to seize power in the West Bank. And what needs more than an unpopular leader who has not stood the test of the electorate for 15 years, dissolved the elected parliament years ago and cancels in one presidential order an earlier presidential order in which he set a date for holding elections.

It seems that Hamas also learned when to keep quiet and let the other side make a mistake.

If Abu Mazen and the Palestinian security system continue to be perceived by the Palestinian public in the West Bank and the street in Gaza as collaborating with Israel and not long ago we will have to face Hamas rule in the West Bank and we will miss the days when Fatah ruled the Palestinian Authority.
