Damascus-SANA
Engineer and researcher Nile Al-Hayy was able to present a comprehensive picture of the intangible heritage of the town of Sadad in the Homs countryside through a lecture hosted by Kafar Sousa, a cultural researcher presented by Ilham Mahfoud.
The neighborhood presented the heritage and folk art transferred in the town, in addition to the books and literature that I talked about by writers and poets from Sadad. The neighborhood also touched on the culture used in building houses, in addition to customs related to marriage, divorce, childbirth, religious beliefs, fasting and holidays.
The neighborhood also provided an introduction to the associations spread in Sadad, the agricultural seasons, the customs of social behavior, courtesy etiquette and food habits, in addition to displaying a set of video clips that show examples of the intangible heritage circulated by the women of Sadad, such as songs associated with weddings or those associated with sadness.
The lecture also included traditional artistic performances presented by the Dahab Ayloul band by Irfan Dahi, which included lyrical paragraphs from the heritage of Sadad presented by children from the town.
It is noteworthy that Nayel Al-Hayy is an engineer, translator and researcher in the field of musical heritage. He has published several writings and translations on the Portuguese language, and has dozens of articles in the fields of classical music, contemporary dance, and others.
