Dargaud
It is undoubtedly for this reason that the famous comic scriptwriter ended up plunging back into the Jacobean atmosphere of the diptych of
L'Espadon
when he had sworn to no longer write for
Blake & Mortimer
... you, the heady scent of adventure always tickles the nostrils. When we ask Van Hamme what prompted him to follow up on
The Swordfish
saga
, the screenwriter simply replies:
“Time has passed. I ended up getting used to the idea that I could write a new screenplay… But on condition that I can return to the place of my first enthusiasms. ”
That's done...
The scenario of this new album is based on a historical fact of the Second World War, "Operation Arthur".
The IRA, the Irish Republican Army, had allied with the Germans against their common enemy, England.
The objective of this operation was to blow up Buckingham Palace in order to psychologically destabilize the English.
Van Hamme thus confesses to having
"wanted to revive this strange time by relating this authentic story, but not well known."
If the screenplay is signed by Van Hamme, the drawing is for its part provided by the tandem Peter Van Dongen and Teun Berserik, who made their debut (and with certain success) on the diptych
La Vallée des Immortels
(2018-2019 ).
