The Ministry of Health announced today (Sunday) a change in the definition of "protected" against the corona virus in Israel, from which eligibility for the green label is derived.

The new policy will take effect on October 3, and those who do not meet the definitions will be denied eligibility for a green label.

The change in definitions concerns 1.2 million people who have recovered from the virus in Israel, and about 2.4 million vaccinated in a second dose alone.

Under the new policy, starting next Sunday recovering from corona will be eligible for a green mark in the first half year since being diagnosed positive.

Then, to get a green mark they will have to get vaccinated once.

Unvaccinated recovered half a year since infection - will not be considered protected.

Another option for obtaining a green mark is the result of positive results in a serological test, plus at least one vaccine performed after the serological test.

Vaccinations that have been more than a week (excluding vaccination day) since receiving the second dose, but less than half a year since, will be eligible for a green label.

Those who have passed half a year since receiving the third vaccine will need a booster vaccine, and a week after receiving it - they will enter the list of those entitled to the green label.

Anyone who falls ill in Corona after vaccination will be immediately considered vaccinated and will be entitled to the green label.

At this stage, the extension of the green mark for a person who has recovered and been vaccinated once will be for six months, after which the Ministry of Health will re-examine the issue.

The definition of eligibility for the green label varies.

Starting tomorrow, the driving tests (tests) performed by the companies Milgam and Taldor will be conditional on the presentation of a green mark or a negative test, the Histadrut announced today.

The companies are responsible for thousands of tests every day and the guidance may affect many of the examinees.

"Driving examiners fear for their health due to the crowded sitting in a closed vehicle, for long hours every day, in front of many examinees, including teenagers," the Histadrut explained.

The chairman of the Histadrut's Transportation Workers' Union, Avi Edri, clarified that "the Histadrut will not stand aside when the health of the workers is at stake.

We are waiting for the Ministry of Transportation to complete the preparation of a regulation on the subject. "

This morning, the Ministry of Health announced a decrease in the rate of verified viruses, with 2,616 people diagnosed with blue in the last day - 3.96% of 66,732 tests performed. 17 to 711 and the number of respirators decreased to 215. In total, there are 63,022 active patients in Israel.
