E-mobile enthusiasts and many onlookers celebrated a big happening on Saturday.

At the finish of this year's E-Cannonball from Berlin to Unterschleißheim, the e-community celebrated exuberantly.

Who arrived first at the Infinity Congress site was of secondary importance.

Unterschleissheim

- It is shortly after three when movement comes to the eagerly waiting e-mobiles on the parking lot that has been converted into a fairground behind the congress center. “The power guzzlers”, shouts Alexandra Zaganz from the organization team around Cannonball initiator Ove Kröger, “You are the first!” Alexandra organized the happening. Ove is driving himself and was the last to start this morning in Berlin; right behind ex-Formula 1 driver Heinz-Harald Frentzen, a committed electric car driver, in a Tesla. But what is it? Team “Opel Mokka 2” must have pushed past Corsa e in the last few meters. The crowd hoots as the mocha turns onto the fairground. Robin from Robin TV, a well-known influencer from the e-scene, rushes over with the microphone. “I really wanted to be the first to get in,” grins Mocha driver Jan Gleitzmann and smiles on both cheeks.

Participants drive in three classes

73 e-cars and two-wheelers set off in Berlin at 6.30 a.m.

The participants drive in three classes, depending on the performance of their e-mobile.

The route is free;

on the way there are exams to be passed.

So whoever arrives first is not the winner.

Patrick Wirtensohn (43) has been there for hours.

In the absence of an e-mobile of their own, the IT specialist from Karlsruhe is involved with his e-bike.

Out of competition, of course.

Patrick set off a week ago in Moers, last year's destination of the Cannonball on the Lower Rhine.

"I just wanted to be there."

Meanwhile, “Die Stromfresser” are eagerly trying to smile away at their contrition.

Broadcast via livestream from Robin TV on a giant screen, Arni, the presenter, pilot and co-driver guides the last few meters to the destination.

“It's a bit tricky,” she calls out to both of them with a wink.

Cheered by the fans, the Corsa finally rolls onto the square.

“16.4 KW / h”, laughs one of the power guzzlers.

Robin from Robin TV, who is already waiting with the microphone, is amazed: "Everything under 20 is great!"

A colorful self-construction inspires

Information stands from e-mobile manufacturers and snack bars are spread across the fairground. There's spaghetti and a competition. Cannonball initiator Ove Kröger reports from a parking lot near Feuchtwangen. “Loaded twice and ate a sausage,” smiles Ove from the screen. Frentzens Tesla is somewhere near Nuremberg. The highlight is the Hero class, conversions of earlier petrol engines. Team “Mustang” has just come galloping across the finish line to cheers. Father and son Rech have been tinkering with their Ford, built in '66, for years. "Uphill near Schleiz, the batteries went to my knees," reveals the father. “Everything is cool,” adds the son of the man. That they made it past BOSolar with the mill is all the more surprising. The colorful self-construction by students is enthusiastic. BOSolar was still ahead of the game, just to be followed via livestream.Shortly before the finish line, both teams lost their way. “Left” Arni calls out to the pilots. “The bridge and you are there!” True dramas must have played out over the last few meters.

Bottom light trophy for Team Opel Manta

“Electric vehicle enthusiasts have a bird,” concludes Robin.

His gaze falls on Daniel Wranik and Jacquelin, who have made themselves comfortable at a beer table.

Daniel, 44 and from Hesse, has been infected with the e-virus for eleven years.

15-year-old Jacquelin, a macaw, is always part of the party, preferably crouching on her shoulder.

“Does she speak?” Asks one.

"Sure, but not with everyone!" Replies Daniel.

“I'm excited to see who wins,” Daniel chirps to the macaw.

Jacquelin holds her beak.

The list of winners will be published on cannonball.de in the coming days.

What is certain, however, is that the “Opel Manta” team won the bottom-light trophy.

The yellow-black renovation is said to have arrived sometime around midnight.
