Long lines outside a petrol station in the London borough of Twickenham.
Many Britons prefer to fill up again - or at least try to.
Just like here in the west of the capital, there are currently traffic jams in front of the petrol pumps all over the country.
The reason: Thousands of gas stations across the country are running out of gas.
And not because the fuel itself is running out.
The problem is that there aren't enough truck drivers to bring them to the pumps.

“I've been waiting here for almost an hour to refuel.
I was standing in line yesterday - and when it was almost my turn, the gasoline ran out. "
Reporter
“Is that a Brexit problem?”
Driver
“No, this is the result of Brexit.”
Indeed, when the UK left the EU, around 25,000 truck drivers returned home, mostly to Eastern Europe.
Strict immigration rules are now preventing immigration.
In addition, a number of driving lessons and tests have been postponed due to the corona pandemic.
According to estimates by the UK transport industry, there are currently around 100,000 truck drivers missing.
In order to solve the acute crisis at the petrol stations, the government is now looking into using soldiers as truck drivers.
She also wants to issue work visas for up to 5,000 foreign truck drivers.
